Thanked: 0Help me Identify this razor
I just bought a razor from a man for exactly $30, it's a little tarnished, but other wise it's in good shape.
On the Blade it reads "Genco Master Barber, Geneva N.Y U.S.A"
I've seen a few Genco Master Barber style razors before, but never one like this.
The oddest Part about this razor (other than the fact that it seems a little thinner than most other Genco blade (but might just be me)) is that the scales are made out of a sigle peice of plastic (maybe bakelight), a yellowish color, and it has a corn cob style to it, it's hard to explain. But, the scales definatley are modeled to look like corn.
Also, in my opinion the scales seem a little lighter than they should, but again that may be just me. (kinda cheap actually)
(maybe later I can get around to posting a picture of it)
I'm really just wondering if this is a rare blade or why I cant seem to find any others like it online, and if 30 bucks was a fair price for it.

Thanked: 3795We don't do appraisals here, but I'll tell you that most likely the scales are not original. Replacement scales were very common for the repair of broken ones. I wouldn't consider a Genco Master Barber to be a rare blade, but all Gencos are great shavers.
