Thanked: 398Recommend me a razor...
Hey guys,
I have $100 to spend. I like hollow ground razors, 5/8-6/8. Let me know what you think.
Cheers,
JF

If vintage is an option, that leaves so many choices. I don't think I could pick just one...
Actually, I can. Red Imp 133.

Dups,
Apart from vintage razors on the 'Classifieds' page, I would recommend the Dovo Best full hollow in 5/8 or 6/8.
I have found the Dovo Bests to be first class razors
You can get them from StraightRazorDesigns for ca 80 - 85 USD.
They have a 'honing for life' offer at the moment, and that sounds like a super deal
The Dovo Specials (Tortoise) are also very fine razors - I have one in 6/8 and it is a lovely shaver.
Have fun !
Best regards
Russ

For $100 you could get a couple of old Sheffields, you might luck out on a DD Goldedge (I saw one go for about $80 the other day) or you could get a new razor like a DOVO Blackstar.
Choices, choices...!

For my two cents (or your $100), I'd say go with any well-known brand in the SRD classifieds. You can't go wrong with a well honed vintage. Caution: eBay 'shave ready' razors are not always shave ready.
