    Default 1,000,000

Whilst shopping the other day I spotted a nice looking straight with '1,000,000' etched on the blade. It was made by Vulcan Cutlery in Sheffield if I remember rightly.

I've been searching for info on the 1,000,000 marking but can find nothing. Does anyone know if it's worth picking up?

I'm not familiar with that make or model, so I wouldn't normally respond. But it's been a while since you posted, so I hate to leave you hearing crickets...

Any Sheffield razor is a good bet if it's in good condition. And no razor is worth much if it's totally rusted out. (Save for scale value, if ivory or something nice.)

You say it's "good looking", but without photos, it's hard to say much. I'd need to see the shape of the edge, signs of hone wear, etc.

    What's the asking price?

    £18.

I knew it was a long shot asking for advice without photos, just thought the 1,000,000 on the blade may have been something someone recognised as good, bad or indifferent. I suppose at the asking price it's worth a shot.

Blade should be in pretty good shape for that price...good enough to hone and shave with IMO. You can pretty much bet that any razor from sheffield or germany will be a descent blade. The condition as mentioned above is more of the concern as rust at the bevel can ruin a blade & eat all the way thru.
