Thanked: 3795These have been discussed several times. I would assume a search would bring up a few threads. Though I have never honed one, my impression from the other threads was that they were elevated to the level of borderline crap and certainly not worth the cost.
I pointed this out in a couple of threads about them but here goes again...
They brag up the titanium COATING, so think about what happens when a razor is honed. Setting the bevel involves the removal of the outermost steel from the edge. That means that the all important titanium is absent from the very region where it would matter. In other words, their whole issue about the benefits of the titanium is an illogical crock.

If it's a titanium nitride coating like the drill bits you can't sharpen without destroying the coating. I believe that some surgical instruments have this coating but they are discarded once the sharpness is lost.

Thanked: 0Personally I have never used a Venus titanium razor. But with what I have heard, I think they are not of good quality. I would like to advice you to not to go for them as they are not worth $55. You can get a good quality razor for that money.
