Default Original Bartmann with Notice paper

Hey just wanted to share this, I got this from my grandparents who got it from someone else. Had this razor for a while now, but never really looked into the box it came in, in it was a crumbled up notice paper from Bartmann which stated the razors are well taken care of and are shave ready out of the box. It's a pretty big razor, almost twice the size of a 5/8.
    Enjoy the pictures

    Eerste klas!

A very fine razor and (apparently) in fine condition, too. A lucky gift!

Thank you for sharing it with us.

I've got a half dozen Bartmanns and all are superlative. Whether it will be truly shave ready out of the box remains to be seen but it very well may be. I've had a Merkur, a Dorp-Voos (pre Dovo) Fritz Bracht that were. If it isn't send it out for pro honing unless you are capable yourself. Nice piece one way or the other.

I do my own honing, the Bartmann seemed to have needed a little more time to hone up to perfection. Seems to be a hard steel, which also holds an edge extremely well and pretty long once you get it right. But it took me quite some time to get to that point compared to some other razors I've honed, first shave test was decent but not near to what it should be. It's all in the honing.

    Nice razor.
I have old and nice Bartmann too.
But who did use this trademark?
For some years, I try to find.

    Default Another Happy Bartmann User!

I just acquired a Bartmann razor 6/8 and it is a great shaver and in wonderful shape. It was originally a part of a 7 day set. Smooth and close - Wow!

It must be open season on Bartmann razors as I picked this one up at a knife show.... Haven't decided if I'm keeping it or not...

Personally I think Bartmanns are as good as any duck, Filly or Puma. I know you like the old Sheffield wedges Mike but I bet if you shave with that one a time or two it will be a keeper.
