    Default Scales ?

Does the difference in scales, if they are original, flat vs rounded tell anything about age ? Seems like I saw a post about that one time, but don't have a clue where I saw it. Thanks and if you saw the post I'm talking about, please post a link to it. Thanks again.

It depends. Most types of scales have been used since the 1800s. Types of celluloid, wood, horn, bone ivory. There are a few types like hard rubber that were used pretty early on but in general the type of scale or shape is probably not a good indicator of age. Maybe more the condition of them will tell you more.
