You did well IMO. Wackers are great razors and the seller is a member here if I'm not mistaken.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

    Default Very nice score

I've pm'd w/ the seller before. I have the same razor & paid $289. It is an EXCELLENT razor. The steel is quite hard, so be prepared.

I have 4 wackers now, and love them. Fav is the 1/4 hollow spanish point, which did it's magic this morning. I can't use any of them without coming away with a very big smile.

I think you're gonna be a very very happy guy. I've had super keen finishes on them, but prefer the smooth finish of the asagi. I would bet a coticule would do well also. I don't yet have experience w/ Escher/Thurry. Pls. post your impressions after a few shaves.

I completely understand the post-purchase jitters. I get them myself all the time. But you won't really know until you've honed and used the thing yourself and determine what it's worth to YOU. It doesn't matter what some book says, it doesn't matter what some expert says, and it doesn't matter what "the market will support". That's all bologna. There's are razors and other tools I spend $10 dollars on...and even though "the market" says I got a good deal. I didn't. There are others that I supposedly paid too much for but I'd pay it again in a heartbeat...plus some. I sharpen quite a few knives/scissors for other people and I'll tell you, as far as material quality and craftsmanship, a lot of people get robbed...but they like 'em and are willy to pay $$$ to have them sharpened so they're "worth it" to the owners. Most don't know, and even more wouldn't care. They got what they wanted, and now they want it sharpened.

    It's all about perspective

...and the beauty of it is SRP has a classifieds so if you decide you didn't get a good deal you can sell it and minimize your losses. (I'm sure a few here would LLLOOOVVEEE for you to do that! lol)

They are certainly great razors. The mention of hard steel is well founded they are very hard for the most part so be ready to spend some time when you have to hone it. I still love the things though:-)
