    Default Gebr. Roeger Razor Information

    Hi

I was settling up my dads estate after his passing and came across a straight edge razor,

    Gebr. Roeger
    Solingen Germany
    Geroeso

White handle...can't tell if it's bone or ivory.

Still in the coffin (case) see picures

No rust but one very small nick in the blade and one large (1mm)
the blade is 2 3/4 x 5/8" or about as I'm not sure how to measure.

Any information about repair of blade or the razor's value would be most welcome.

    Welcome to SRP, Bill!

We don't do valuation of razors, but you might be able to find similar razors for sale on the web which you could compare to. There are also some published collectors guides to straights which might be useful to you.

As for the edge, anyone who hones should be able to fix it up, although it will take a bit of extra time (and likely money) to get the chips out. Aside from that, though, it looks like it would be a great razor once the chip is honed out.

    Hope this helps!

Razor makers shows a listing for "Gebrüder Roeger, Solingen in 1922. Open-blade razor maker."

Some of the other folks with better reference material can probably help more...

Strange women lying in ponds distributing swords is no basis for a system of government.
