Discounting the ones on the do not buy list and similar there are only a handful of quality factory made outfits. Dovo and TI are the largest quality producers. There are few others that have or are trying to reestablish themselves like Boker, Puma, henckels, and a few others. They all appear to be making a quality product.

I would say Hart. I've had a number of new razors and I think the Hart round nose is the best.

I have a new TI, wacker, and Revisor. The Revisor is by far my best shaver. The wacker and TI are excellent too.

EDIT: I should mention...the Revisor was done up in Abalone and honed by Max. They may make a difference in the performance.

I think that my Hart Steel is an excellent razor if you would like something in between mass production and custom made at a reasonable price.

However, I have to say that of the current production razors I have tried (Dovo, Wacker, Hart, Boker) I think my little Boker Edelweiss is the best shaver. I have not tried the other current production Bokers, but if they are anything like the Edelweiss, my vote goes to Boker.

Note: I have not shaved with a Thiers razor yet.

I like my Wacker(s), Dovo(s) and TI - all for different reasons.

The Wacker has a great feel/balance and I like the overall quality the best. It is also the sexiest.
The Dovo is simple, but a great shaver that gets the finest hairs cut.
The TI I originally hated. Then I honed it on my own, and rounded the square point at the heel - now I love it for the way it shaves and overall feel/balance.

I have to say my preference is for Wackers but I have not tried a TI yet...

So can anyone say how a Puma compares to those? I am looking for a new razor that compares to my puma since it got stolen... Damn rats. I am leaning towards a dovo special but who knows.
