Thread: Detroit razors

Does anyone know if any razors were stamped with Detroit on them? I've been searching for one and haven't come across any.

I do know for sure there is some, saw some on the bay not long ago but don't know what brand they were. The reason I was looking is Detroit is my home town. They were not in good shape at all though, chipped blades and so on. I'll keep an eye out and let you know if I see any though.

Thanks, I'd appreciate it. I can restore it if it needs, so it doesn't have to be in great shape, just a decent edge. I'll be replacing the scales.
BTW, what colors are the Detroit NBA team? (I don't know sports, the razor is for someone else as a surprise)

I have one razor that is stamped Detroit. I can't remember who the maker was, but I'll try to post pics when I get home. I aquired it on the bay about 2 months ago.

Edit: I think it was a Morris Razor. I did a search on flea bay under straight razors, and if you seach titles and descriptions for the word "Detroit" there are a couple up there right now.

Hmm. I have a saved search that is supposed to email me when one posts.

I have come across a few at local antique stores.. but then again I live on the other side of the state. If I run across any in the near future I will let you know as I have curbed my RAD since finding "the one" razor current until I can save up the cash for a Zowada.

I have one made in Saginaw, MI.

Don't remember seeing any marked Detroit, but it would be interesting find.
