I just got a Dovo Red Bone and love it! However, if/when the scales get wet, the red dye comes off rather quickly.

When the red dye "bleeds", it doesn't seem to change the color of the scales so I'm wondering if it is just excess dye or something to worry about. Is there a trick to preventing the dye from coming off?
