Feel My Pain
So to begin I have just started about a little over a month ago of SR shaving. I LOVE LOVE LOVE it, but to my "surprise" the other day I was at my father's house while I'm home on my winter vacation from college and my younger (15 year old) brother had a few of his friends over. Well one of them went into my room, saw my straight razor in my custom made stand for it and my brush (made it in my father's wood shop, took a week, pictures up soon) and proceeded to use my razor for what it was not meant for. I came home the next day, found it in the kitchen with the BIGGEST dent right in the middle of it , I then found out that the little p***k decided to use it to sharpen a PENCIL! I can honestly say that I don't believe that I've ever been that upset in my life. Just try to imagine what I'm feeling. That was my very first straight razor, and I did feel a bit of a depression saying goodbye to it, because I know that it was supposed to last me years and years with PROPER use.
And yes, the little p***k is paying for every cent of the SR that it was worth, and his father is buying me a new strop to apologize.

i understand that we're supposed to be ****ed at the kid and everything.. but let's just be grateful he didn't accidently cut off a finger or anything more severe.

yes
i do agree, i knew when i was 15 to not be touching things that weren't mine. and i didn't go into other people's room's without them being there and without there permission. and proceed to take something not mine and break it

Best to keep objects like these and firearms from the eye of kids. Prevention is better than repair.

i'm just saying that using a straight razor to sharpen a pencil is a dangerous thing to do.. he could have easily injured himself way beyond the point of 6 stitches.
