Thanked: 21newbies new toys
Been lurking here for about 3 weeks and decided i needed to start SR shaving. So on advice to others, from members of this forum I bought from the classifieds here. A Genco "Old Dutch" shave ready
then i ordered a cheapy that i liked a F.A. Clausberg "Tonsorial Gem" just ordered it last night
And today At the Antique store I found this
Any one have an idea what the craftsmen is worth the box has a 9205 on the back. There were also some other razors at the shop one i bought says Columbus etched on the blade and "Glide" on the tang the monkey tail has Made in Germany on it.
the marks on the handle easily scrape off you can see where i tried. This is as was purchased for all these blades. Hope I have done well with my purchases. old dutch was $35. Tonsorial gem was $24 craftsmen was $59 and the columbus was $8

Thanked: 21Glad I could help you put more in print. The razor purchased here is the only shave ready one the others need help. And the Craftsmen was just so shiny and pretty i could not help my self. The columbus "unless i am told otherwise" will be for honing practice. Now i just need to get the rest of the toys. I do have a silvertip knot waiting for a 24mm handle though. And i live very close to the soap opera in madison. And from here and other forums have heard there local made shave soaps are wonderful.
