Time to strop that baby up and prep it for your next shave.

Those with the Diamond Steel etch were the first ones. The later blanks had the gold wash instead. Some were sold as is with the gold wash. But many had an off center or skewed gold wash which looked ridiculous so it was decided to remove the wash and just mirror polish them up. I have both versions and they are identical (except for the blade's gold wash or Diamond steel).

Thanks for the pics Jimmy, I was just going to request that someone post some pictures of the Dovo 55 after all this talk about them. I have to admit they are among the more handsome Dovos I have laid eyes on

That's why we have the razor database, my post has a link you probably want to click on.

That is same as mine. I wonder what that 'Barrel Brand' was supposed to mean ? Hadn't seen that on another Dovo. Great shavers BTW.

I was lucky to get one from an SRP member when I was new to SRP. Then they became popular and the prices went up. Its one great shaver that performs so well day and day out. Its seems to be well balanced with giving a great shave and easily taking an edge.

I got one of those Dovo55 with the Gold Wash and Max rescaled her for me. He not only put her in beautiful clothing (matching the gold wash), but also put a hell of an edge on this baby . Thanks Max

    Here's mine:
