Dang you people. Now I feel a case of RAD coming on (just GAS (guitar acquision syndrom) and other malady's I've had over the years). Pick up a couple of razors at a local antique store the other day.

First up, a J. Lang & Co, Our Speed. Some rust, but in pretty good shape overall

Next is a G.C. Company, Germany. Not at nice as the J. Lang. Cheap plastic scales, but the blade is in better condition. Might be a good first restoration project, with some new scales.

    Congrats!

The rust on that first blade is, IMO, in about the best place to have rust. It's easy to get at, it doesn't even appear to be between the scales at the tang, and is nowhere near the shaving edge. That one should clean up pretty easily.

Looks like you did real good. You can get that rust off by scrapping it with a single edge razor blade from the hardware and them hitting it with some metal polish. Fine steel wool is good also. Get them honed properly and put them back in service!!
