A great shaver, I don't think you can go wrong getting one of these.

I got these from Vintage blades when they were first made available, all were rescaled by "Max" the tortoise came already scaled while the other 2 came with the cheap black plastic scales, although as I recall as plastic scales go they really were not that bad, and who ever honed them did a great job, none of these have anything on the back at all.
My picture does not do justice to Max's work especially the tortoise it looks way better as you can see examples on Max's site.

Stropper, those are sweet green scales. What are they. The light really looks cool that way it hits them just pops.

Thanked: 81I have only used my Dovo 55 for about 2 shaves, so here is my opinion for what it is worth. The razor/hone makes for a very very nice shaver. I have not tried to hone this razor myself, so it is hard to say much more than the following. I do not regret the purchase.

I love the razor. It was honed by Max and was extremely sharp. It was the smoothest shave I have ever had. Two passes got me smoother than my normal three. I now know how sharp my other razors are not.
It felt big and balanced in my hand. I really like it. It was a great add to my collection.
