    Default Flea market find.

    Hello.
I was over having some coffee with a friend and he mentioned he had bought a box with all kind of things (and crap) at a flea market for 25 SEK (4 USD). Among all the stuff where two straight razors. I asked if I could have a look at them and one was an old Erik Anton Berg with a straight blade and a pressed on Spine.
The other one however was a Witte Gold Bug in exceptional good condition but the scales seemed odd to me. Accordingly to what I have found the scales should be transparent on a Witte Gold Bug but these scales where black/blue and had a gold devil printed on one side.

Anybody know if the scales are original or not?

I will try to take some good pictures the next time I visit him.

Unfortunally he didn't want to sell it to me but I will just keep asking him untill he does. He doesn't use it so.

Take a case of beer to his place...crack open a few...about the 7th beer, ask about the straight razors.... toss a tenner on the table...grab the straights and tell him to enjoy the rest of the beer. Fair deal?

Default If hes not a shaver

find his weak spot, the thing he likes and pick something up, then apply beer as above and shoot for an," I was thinking of you when I saw this" trade.

if you try this with me it'll most certainly be cheaper to just find another razor
the things i have soft spot for tend to be pricey

Gold bug I have sports transparent goldish yellow scales. Dunno if the one in question is original. I doubt it but I was wrong once before. One way or the other they are real good shavers IME so get it at reasonable price if you can.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.
