    Default My 2 Razors

Here are my two razors that I have so far. I thought someone could tell me if they think they are decent. I like shaving with the Barblers Pet but have a little trouble with the Mauser mabey because its wider with a hollow grind and I still need to work on my techniqe with that type of a razor. I havent seen or heard to much about the Mauser brand on this site so I dont know if its any good or not. Its the one I got off ebay and took apart and cleaned up so it was my first go at pinning and cleaning. Thanks for any comments even if there bad on my cleanup job.

Looks like you cleaned them up quite nicely actually And they both should serve you well as fine shavers.

The Barber's Pet is by C.F. Ern. Can't go wrong with an Ern.
The Mauser, I believe is by Henckels & Hammesfahr.

Sweet razors. I really like the First one. I like bigger blades.

    Default +1 - both good

I wouldn't have known the Simmons was by Ern if Onimaru hadn't said so. 'Shaved with another simmons this morn to try another stone's edge, and it was very satisfying. Being converted from not thinking highly of Henckels, I have to say, they take edges for me better than most blades I've done. 'Very impressive shavers. I hope they both serve you well and keep putting smiles on yoru face.

Default Try your antique stores for more finds

    Hey, RGC.

I would think tri-cities would have at least a few antique stores. If not, any trips to Spokane or the West side would reward the effort. Some will be junk, others are nuggets - sorta like ebay. If they have antique shows - they've been a good source also. The large metro areas seem more picked over, and prices aren't as good. The more rural, small-town antique stores and shows have been best for me.
