    Question Q: Empire razors fake?

I found a seller on e-bay (uk-based) who sells NEW straight razor sets 24 euro's (razor and strop). The razors are called Empire UK razors, company is Imperial razors. eBay My World - imperial-razors

My ITS FAKE alarmbells went off and wanted to check with you guys. If so perhaps to add it to the -avoid- list?

(for instance thay have a 99% happy consumer record, 1 costumer said he could not sharpen it, all the other just mention a quick delivery and i mean ALL the others)

I have no personal experience with these, but I saw that one of the feedbacks from a razor auction was "i wasnt able to sharpen this.is it meant to be ornametal?"

Its a razor shaped object as far as I can tell, I have one of their shavettes which is good but I wouldn't buy one of those razors.

Looks like a kriegar. My brother has even bought one, what a mess.
Would say avoid the so-called cheap razors.

Go to the classifieds if you want to buy a cheap but good razor . Good stuff and you are sure they are ready to shave

I would say the price says it all.

I was more than able to sharpen the Empire UK, in fact, it gave me a good shave. You just need to know how low in whetstone grit to go when honing. The thickness of the bevel determines how much steel you need to remove. For anyone interested in having these or any other razors honed correctly, please don't hesitate to contact me.
Yes this is a razor knife and traditionally not a razor, but they can be honed. I definitely would not recommend them as personal razors to anyone, except maybe Stalin.

Hey, it's got "optimum plastic" so it must be quality, right?
