What about this German razor?
A 6/8” German Straight Razor by Walter Klophaus
This cut throat razor has a 6/8” plus Hollow ground blade.
Engraved on the tang are the words “Walter Klophaus Wald Solingen”
On the reverse is “Quast”
On the blade there is “Koln” A picture of Cologne Bridge in gold with a mat background
The manufacturer is included neither in the good razors list, nor in the bad razors list. However, it is a Solingen.
Do you believe this is a good razor?

I'd say that's a very good blade...
There are simply too many makers to list all of them, but you're pretty safe with a Solingen looker like that.

I havent come across a bad old razor yet. Thats a good looking razor. Etching is great. Over all a good find.

So that's what they look like w/o all of the patina!
Very nice razor. Being a 'Made in Solingen' razor I would say it is a GREAT blade. Get 'er honed up and take it for a spin.

Wald is a name that does turn up on the old German razors.
I'm betting the shave will be top notch.........

Looks like a winner!

My Girlfriend is from Cologne, she would immediately approve of my new hobby would i have one of those..
That is a wicked nice razor my friend, if it doesn't shave you can always stick it up a wall.
By the way if you ever have a chance to go to Koln (Cologne), it's a great place to be!
