    Default German vintage razors question

Has anyone ever run across or seen any German vintage razors that may have had the swastika on them of Nazi Germany? It would be of value, I suppose, if one had a razor that was used by Herman Goering or Albert Speers. Be even better if there were traces of DNA on it linking it to them.

Razors like that come up on a regular basis on Eboy and are rather common items. Usually they are bought by collector types and folks who are "into" such stuff. Many have very strong feelings about such items.

    Watch those carefully

There are 2 different "Swastikas" on razors...

There is the Nazi one yes, but there are plenty of the reverse direction wheels also that where used on some razors with an Indian theme...

Remember Hitler stole that symbol, it is very very very old...and has many meanings.. and 2 directions

Many of the Nazi themed razors will have the Eagle holding the Swastika...

I've got a few coins around here someplace that have the Eagle holding the round Swastika. So I would imagine that there could be such items made for the 3rd Reich. A fingerprint on the side of the blade that was confirmed to be one of the major leaders would be fetching top dollar, until some neophite decided to "buff" it clean. Reminds me of a story of a watch repairman out in Seattle some years ago. He was cleaning the watch some guy got as a 40 year (or such) anniverserary of working for Boeing. It had an eagle on the face of the watch which he worked at until he got that hard speck of dirt off the face. The owner was not entirely happy over that one.

Still, back on topic, such razors with some ties to certain people of noterirety would be rare to come across. Examples of the razor that Churchill used, or the one that DeGaul used.... (no comment..) one used by Nixon or Eisenhauer, or even Franklin D. Roosevelt would have a lot of collectors value if it could be proved that they actually owned or used it.

Personally I'd much rather have a razor used by De Gaulle than some nazi. Then again I just shave with razors. Stuff owned by DWMs who may have had their 15 minutes of fame .... or infamy ..... doesn't attract me. If I'm not mistaken any nazi memorabilia is deleted by ebay as soon as someone reports it.

I agree with Glen about different types of swastikas.
    And don't forget about fakes.
There are many razors with swastika from 1970s.
I've never seen the razor blade with swastika from that time, WWII and before.
The Herman Goering razor is better to look in his family ...and DNA too.

I know one of the companies that made a razor with that symbol was Robert Klaas and it was there 1907 razor that had the stamp.
