What are the markings on the tang? I presume it's a German razor. The name on the blade and scales, Glad weg looks very like Luxemburgish, "weg" being a abbreviation of "wann ech gelift" - please. "Glad" (sometimes spelt glat, there's no established orthography) - smooth, so "Smooth please". I have a DE with the same phrase at the base of the handle bought on a flea market in the country, I'll put pics up later. Can't find a translation of gedeponeerd at the moment, I'll ask my wife or kids when they wake up and see if they recognize it, looks very like Luxembourgish to me though. What with the Stars of David and the possibly Jewish Gent on the blade, all in all, an interesting piece. Could you put up more pictures if that's possible please. Where did you get it, if that's not being too nosy?

As far as I can tell, having talked with my daughter, gedeponeerd means the same in Luxembourgish too, Registered Trademark. Nice piece.

Kayser Ellison is the Steelworks (Sheffield) that made the steel. Anything on the other side relating to where the razor was made? (Love that soap dish by the way, doesn't look like a skull cap, Yarmoulk? he's wearing on there).
