Thread: Mammoth Ivory Scales

I really would like to get some Mammoth Ivory scales. I was looking at the Dovo Mammut, but from what I've read it's not really all that great of a razor for the price. So, where could I find some mammoth ivory scales?

do you need Ivory to make scales? or ready made? I have plenty of Ivory and can direct you where to locate material,but nothing pre made.

You just want scales or a razor with them?

If it's scales the material is plentiful. If it's a complete razor you need to look at the custom makers. Other than the Dovo I don't think other factory made razors in current production use them. I have the Dovo Mammut and it's a great shaver but you're right it's not worth the asking price and it's very unbalanced. If you can pick one up on Eboy that's the way to go. That's what I did.
