'Way too much to trouble yourself with. Just send it to me
I'm not savvy on the history of that specific Genco, but they take wonderful edges and give wonderful shaves. 'Picked up 3 more this last wkend and spent about 8 hrs cleaning them up and honing. Don't look for any of them in the classifieds To put it mildly, they won't be there unless smaller than 5/8. There are very few blades I'll keep that are 5/8, but Genco/Geneva/Ontario are ones I keep.
The short version of the fluid steel is that they're wonderful. Plain jane, cheap scales, fabulous blades.

Genco, according to Goins book, was a trademark from 1916 to 1935 for Geneva Cutlery. They were bought out by W.R.Case & Sons who continued the trademark from '36 to '65. According to Goins the Fluid Steel was made during the '16 to '35 period. I've got 7 of 'em and they are all excellent shavers.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

There is some good info in the Genco Pura Razor Club if you want to dig deeper. I have seen Fluid Steels stamped Bradford, PA- so the model was also made sometime '60-'65 at the Bradford PA plant during the Case years also. Based on that, I can only assume the Fluid Steel was made during all or most of the Genco years of 1916-1965.
Hope that helps.
