Default What about -- a condition rating system?

I was thinkin' -- I know that because I'm still nauseous -- has anyone else thought about a condition rating system for vintage straights? Maybe a sub-forum where vintage razors could be graded --by condition, not value -- and some standards considered and applied. It might help the uninitiated in their shopping, and be a topic of some discussion.

I'll go back in my hole now.

Condition is so subjective... at least to the owner.

The old "If it's mine, it's stuff; you own crap" syndrome.

What I would like to see is something along the NRA rating system used for guns. The item would start at NIB 100% and then work its way down the scale, subtracting percentage points for individual flaws. It would still be somewhat subjective between the eyes of the beholder(s), but I think it would work.

Or add points for correcting individual flaws

I've seen it talked about several times. It's not a bad idea, but as mentioned opinion is subjective. I think most sellers on here will be either on the money or actually downplay their blade they are selling so that the buyer will be pleased.

I could be wrong, but I hope & think that I am not...
