    Default Horden and Son "sheffield"

I picked this razor up today it says Horden and Son and has sheffield on it as well. Has anyone heard of this maker? Also today i purchased a Bismarck 406 and a Shumate Tungsten. I got the Shumate and Horden for $5 bucks i hope this was a steal. I purchased the Bismarck for $10 and im hoping the same with it. All need restored and i have never done a restoration and wondering if someone could point me in the right direction on how to do it or find someone who is reasonably priced.

    Welcome!
As far as restoring, try going to the Wiki! There you will find articles on this subject! Costs for restoration by the Pros are relative. I thought that the amount I paid Glen (GSSIGUN) to restore my Great Grandfather's W&B 100+ year old near wedge was very reasonable. However to pay the same amount for a run of the mill razor that I purchased for $30 and shave ready could be considered not cost effective!

With that said, there are different levels of resoration. Check out the classifieds under Member Services. There you will find several different vendors. Check them out!
You might try going to Forums, then scroll down until you find Custom Built's and Restorations. Check some of them out! Including the (Heirloom W&B Restore in Feathered Horn). That's the one Glen did for me!
    Welcome and Good Luck!

    Thanks so much

Did you ever find out anything on the Horden and Son? I'm supposed to go look at one tomorrow. I can't find much online.

Can't find anything about the maker, but come across a Horden in a 1909 newspaper advertisement - no picture of the razor though! Looks like they were well-regarded, though.

    Regards,
    Neil
