Hey guys so i bought this busted up razor just for the scales. $4 for the razor with the box. I know its either bone or some kind of ivory, but im just not sure. I have nothing to compare it too for reference. So im asking you. What are they?

Not that many years ago, when I was a newbie, I asked about the possible ivory scales on razor that I was going to buy, and I was given this great advice by Croaker:

If there are small pores, especially at the ends, the scales are bone. If there are no pores, the scales are thin, have a fine grain and feel slick to the touch, they are ivory.

The coloring and texture in the end on the first pic lead me to believe this is bone of some sort. Ivory tends to be smoother (glossier, if you will) and not have pores or streaks on the ends.

    Good luck,
