    Default Another mystery heirloom razor

Hello all, I've been a troll to this forum for a while, and i've searched all over the web for any information, but have had no luck. I found this in my mom's cedar chest, and she doesn't remember who it belongs to, so I can guess that it is either from about the 1910's or the 1940's (depending on which relative owned it) have you guys ever seen this kind of razor?

I have one of these that I shortened due to a chip in the toe. I think it says "Finest Silver Steel Germany" on the other side of the tang?

btw, did you mean lurker instead of troll?

    Older than me.

Vintage german steel. Should shave fine if honed by someone competent.

    Goins says:
    COSMO MFG. CO. GERMANY
    1900-1920
"Joseph Feist (omega) Solingen" is stamped on the back of the tang. Feist made knifes from about 1898-1924.

That's a good looking razor you have there...

I have looked at thousands of razors in antique stores, flea markets, etc. I would say that less than 50% were in the correct boxes. Do a search here on SRP as some one was trying to work out a trading thing for boxes if you need a box that matches.

Koken was a supplier so it is possible that they might have sold a razor with a different name in a Koken marked box but I think the Koken name would've been stamped on the reverse tang. My guess is it is not a match. To most guys back then a box by any other name was still a box.
