    Default Genco 7-Day Set?

    Hello all,

Did Genco ever produce a seven-day razor set? If so, what models of razor would the sets be comprised of? For some reason, I haven't seen a seven-day set of US-made razors. Thanks for any help!

I've seen a 7 day set of Cattaraugus and maybe one other USA marque that escapes me right now. I bought six Genco Fluid steel razors in a velvet roll with individual compartments for each. It looks like it could have been a set and the roll professionally made but it is only six so probably not. No days of the week on the spines either. All were mint and unused. Honed them up on different stones to see what they would shave like. All outstanding shavers. If you run up on a Fluid steel in good shape grab it.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Something like what Jimmy mentioned with the Fluids is the closest I've ever seen from a US manufacturer. I have seen Catti's with grooves in the spines that are similar to razors from day sets (that sort of worked back), but not with the days, as far as I can recall.

In the immortal words of Madelein Cann as Lillie Von Stup (Blazing Saddles): "Its twue, its twue". I would say the Shumates aren't far behind, if at all. 'Can't go wrong w/ either.

Thanks for the replies everyone. I am going to hazard a guess and speculate that the market for seven-day sets just did not exist in the United States. The seven-day straight razor set seems to be more of the 1800's time frame in Sheffield, England, though you do see German seven-day sets as well. I would love to try some American straight razors, though. Thanks again.
