Default Looking for a straight that is shorter than the standard 2 3/4"

I have been shaving with a straight now for about five months. I have two straight razors. A 5/8" Dovo SS full hollow ground and a TI 5/8" full hollow ground as my primary shavers.

A friend showed me his collection of razors and in amongst them all he had a short blade that was about 2 inches or 2 1/4" in length.

I liked the feel of the shorter length and was wondering if anyone could point me in a direction where I might perhaps find one. I have looked and looked but have been unable to find a shorter length straight razor. If anyone knows a particular brand or where I might find one that would be awesome!

Thank you for your comments and suggestions.

Plenty of guys that restore would have razors that have been shortened. Put up a WTB ad in the classifieds.
There would also be some made that way originally like the ' Liliput' by Ern. Even Mastro Livi made a short trimmer.

Genco made a short blade as well that came with a removable guard.

There is a champion in a local antique store that could use a light resto, but it is shorter in length with a longer than normal tang from the factory. I believe it to be around 6/8. PM me and I'll get you in contact.

There are, what I believe are called "Corn" razors. They're ordinary straight-razors but like half the size. Or alternatively you could just search for a razor that's been chopped in half. Some people do that when the toe of the razor is trashed and they turn them into spike-points.

Thanks for the information and help guys, I really appreciate it. I'm a bit leery about anything on Ebay, you never know what it is in reality until you get it and find out it isn't what you thought it was.

Chris, I think I own a razor that is similar to what you are talking about. Although most razors I have seen that are the length that you descrided are usualy restored blades, I don't believe mine is a restore. It is one of the first razors i bought, it is a T. Noonan & Sons that has a blade length(cutting edge) of 2 & 3/8" & width of 11/16". I will take a coupple of pics & post them once I get them uploaded.

    Regards
    Louis.
