It's possible that it wasn't stamped good or at all. Some of the big mfg's didn't put stamps on blanks so that a "buyer" could stamp it with their logo. This goes on today. Personally, I don't really care of the mfg as long as it shaves well. You can look in the workshop on the cutting down of a blade...just watch the heat as it will destroy the temper. Work bare handed and don't let the steel get too hot to the touch close to your work. You could also send it off to one of he pro's in the classified's to have it shortened.
