    Default Razor ID help

    ok guys,
today i picked up 3 razors at an antique shop
unfortunately i only have cell phone quality pictures, but here they are, the razor i am interested in identifying is the one with the yellow handle, the other two are the two that i got ahold of. The one with the chipped blade is a larkin brand, does anyone think that i could have it cut down by a professional restorer and have a short razor? the second with i think is a spanish tip blade? says williiam england's celebrated razor, it looks to be wedge, or ver close to a full wedge (my first wedge) and i like the balde tip style
the last one, the one with the and the one that i am most interested in, is unnamed, seems to be barely used, and the scales appear to be bone ( i say this because they seem to have a grain unlike wood, and it has yellowed, i wear a white bone hook necklace, and it has yellowed to the same color) the scale is slightly cracked. the thing that really makes me curious is the scale is very thin, the blade i believe had a name on it at some point in time, but i cant make it out now (seems like it wasn't stamped in well)

oh, and thankfully, the one with the clip point looking one seems only to have surface rust
also, the scales on it appear to be horn

Yes, the one blade can be cut down to make a shorter blade as long as their is no other damage to the blade. Goins' Encyclopedia doesn't appear to the specific information you are asking for other than the names of Larkin & Williams Sheffield England listed. Hopefully you searched the Wiki...

i did search the wiki, the main thing was the one that is not marked
is it possible that it just wasn't stamped good?
that is the main one that i am looking for
i didnt see anything for cutting the other down in length (may have just missed it)
the one without the markings is the one that i am really interested in, since it looks nearly unused, and it looks to have bone handles on it

It's possible that it wasn't stamped good or at all. Some of the big mfg's didn't put stamps on blanks so that a "buyer" could stamp it with their logo. This goes on today. Personally, I don't really care of the mfg as long as it shaves well. You can look in the workshop on the cutting down of a blade...just watch the heat as it will destroy the temper. Work bare handed and don't let the steel get too hot to the touch close to your work. You could also send it off to one of he pro's in the classified's to have it shortened.
