Thread: Why no new monthly straight on straight razor designs?

So I have been straight shaving now for about 2 months. I had RAD pretty bad and bought a lot of stuff on the bay, and I feel that my sharpening skills are pretty good, but because I have never bought a "professionally" sharpened blade I am not sure if my sharpening skills are any good. I mean it feels smooth to me, but are my blades up to par with other razors that are "professionally" sharpened.

So I am looking to compare my sharpening skills by purchasing a new classy razor from SRD or one that has been refurbished by a reputable sharpener like bob keys, aka altima55.

However, since my RAD has subsided somewhat, I am having trouble finding the "right" new razor. There are a few on SRD that I would buy (like the master's) if they were ever put on the 20% off monthly straight, hint hint. I do love the shoulder-less razors. I almost bought the stainless steel boker because it was 20% off but nothing has even been put on the monthly straight.

So does anyone have any ideas? Anyone want to do a razor swap that has a "professionally" sharpened razor?
