Thanked: 0Look for information on manufacture
I just bought a blade and am looking for information on the manufacture. The manufacture is D.J Faour & Bros. I have done as much research as I could and came across some information.
They were some sort of Bankers in 1901
In 1903 a band of safe crackers with "skill" tried to break into their safe but failed and was only able to steal $10
In 1926 they became an official business and obtained capital from the bank of Brooklyn brothers are named George Joseh Faour and Dominiek Joseph Faour and at this time applied to be named DJ Faour Brothers
In 1933 they seemed to have gone Bankrupt and their affairs were liquidated.
My problem I can find nothing about making razors? When were they razor makers?

Per Goins, they made razors from 1900-1920, stamped Germany on the rear.
Did you see this one from Cannonfodder?

+1 on the pics. That will help everyone a great deal. It seems more likely to me that they had the razor produced by someone else and etched with their name as a promotional item (as suggested). Nowadays everybody has pens with their name imprinted on them. Doesn't mean they made the pen, but it gets their name out there. If they manufactured safes for the banking industry it would not be unreasonable to think that banks that purchased from them would receive comps (the same goes on today, just not with straight razors).
That's my guess...but it's just a guess at this point.
Peace,
