Thread: Judging the value of old razors

I have an old wade &butcher Sheffield it's etched on the blade and says the unequalled & justly famed patent frame Back Razor. Can anyone tell me about this straight razor? I have searched and searched for info and have had no luck. Thank you for any information you might can give me on the value and history also maybe the age.

Thank you but I would really just like to find out how old this razor may be. And the history . I have searched on line but can not find any info on the etched blades.

I'm not really interested in the value just the history and era of this etched razor. Would never consider selling it.

Take some closeup photos of your razor, both sides of the razor where there are marks, stamps or writing. The members here will help you.

Im familiar with this razor, it is what we call a "Frameback" razor, it is not that rare as you can find quite a few online. I would date this razor was made in 1850-1870 give or take a few.
