Default My RAD has come to a head

It started innocently enough buying a 2 razor setup at whippeddog.com. Then I took a stab at one on eBay then another at an antique store and then back to eBay.

As of tomorrow I'll have 5 straight razors in my hands, all shave ready, different sizes, styles and makes. And have a new strop on order (that doesn't count because I needed to replace my nicked up poor-man's strop) as well.

Today, oh today. It all came to a head. I purchased two lots on our favorite auction site. 4 in one and 5 in the other. What the he'll am I going to do with all of them?? And what am I going to tell my wife?? I'm not. Well at least not yet as I had them shipped to my work.

I don't remember the last time I had something shipped somewhere other than home out of fear of my wife's reaction. Usually camera equipment, but only rarely, and not nearly this soon after delving into it.

So this is my public decree that I will not be purchasing any more shaving related items for a long ass time. I've got plenty of shaving supplies to last at least a few months and certainly won't need a honing in a good long while. So that's it. My buying days are over for the foreseeable future. Let it be known.

Right after I pick up a nice scuttle....

Been there, done that and still buying razors.

Me and my girlfriend have a discussion on a nearly daily basis where I promise I won't buy any more razors. Yesterday we were looking around in an antique store and I saw a really scrappy looking razor and asked if I could take a closer look. The blade was pretty decent but the scales where completely shot. He then told me he had several more but they were a little bit more expensive. He then showed me five beautiful razors for 6,50$ each!!! One was an amazing E.A. Berg with an etched blade and a barbers notch, quite heavy. I almost cried when we walked out from there but later that night she finally agreed to let me purchase one of the razors. Hopefully it is still there today. If it is you will see it in the forums shortly.

Stay strong, and don't give in. Me on the other hand, I have alloted some cash into this. Kinda like thinking of it like a monthly razor account. Just in case I should forget to order something I try to limit my razors to 45 at a time, so if I go above I should sell some. I have some in a "will sell" pile
    Have fun

Like I said in a different thread.
    1) ship the razors to work
    2) bring home flowers ( must be something she likes)
    3) say "I love you"
    4) while she is putting the flowers in the water sneak in the razors to you hiding spot.
    5) enjoy the rest of you evening. Flowers do work wink wink lol lol

Now that you've fully admitted to a RAD problem, it should make stopping much easier.... Year RIGHT. But that said, what about hones? You do have hones right!! LOL

Hones are much harder to sneak in. Hmmm you will need something more the flowers. Strops are simpler. You can get long strops and wear them as a belt when you walk. Yea that should work. RAD HAD SAP all very addictive. Verry hard to cure. Thinking abou all this I need my daily fix. I'm off to eBay see ya.

Women don't know bricks from hones. Just tell her you're building a shop out back.

I haven't had any trouble with the wife, but my girlfriend found out and she is ticked.

When the wife finds out about the girlfriend, then you have trouble.
