But here is the thing Glen, all of the vintages we buy were just new razors as some time. And I have a fond dream that one day there will be enough straight razor users to generate the comback of one or two of those companies for whose vintages we have a penchant for. That will never happen if I remain a vintage razor snob for all of my purchases

You can alway split the difference and get a TI historic forging or a new one made from an old blank (maybe these are the same thing?) it gives you something rare that isn't made anymore, while being a brand new razor. That said I do want to try TI's new steel but as I figure it will still be around to try later whereas the old ones may not.
