US Blades: How large do they come? Biggest I've seen is 6/8.

The biggest US blade i have is a 6/8 Torrey. I actually haven't seen any that are bigger than that. Did the US companies make any choppers or big hollow grounds?

Genco/Geneva I know made 7/8 and 8/8 hollows
but yes your observation is correct there are not many...

IIRC I have seen one American made heavy blade "Chopper" I would have to go through my restore pics to try and find it

I believe Ramapo's made a big chopper, but not sure if they are American (I think they are). I've seen a far number of HM Christensen's that are 7/8ths though.

If you take a look in the Razor Club thread for Robeson you will see two 8/8 blades made by that company in Rochester, NY. They are featured in posts #39 and #45.

All info I have seen says those are Sheffield blades.
