    Default My Uncles Razors

I recently inherited a couple of beautiful straight razors that belonged to my uncle. They were part of a 7 day set once upon a time and I wish I had all seven of them! Anyway, I would appreciate any information about these razors someone could provide. They are Edeco Solingen Extra from Solingin on the tang with white plastic scales and blue and gold moniker on the blade and spine, jimped and 6/8 extra hollow round blade.Name: P1000787.jpg

What a beauty! You, sir, are seriously lucky. I assume you'd prefer to have your uncle around, but what a lovely bequest he left you! I'm not familiar with Edeco, but ya can't go wrong with a Solingen blade in good shape. You might want to take a look in the Wiki as a start.

Not familiar with that particular brand, but solingen are known for producing quality razors.
Yours is a beauty, as well. I'm sure it will perform well, provided the razor is properly honed.
Are you going to be shaving with it?

Yes. I already have shaved with them both and they shave beautifully. They have become my favorite razors and I love to hear them "sing" on the strop and my face when I shave with them. I think they will be a wonderful legacy to hand down the family line.

Don't know if anybody's going to see this, but for what it's worth I have a complete set of these including the original box. Plus they're completely UNUSED! I've been trying to place a value on these but none of the few straight-razor 'dealers' have replied to my inquiries.

    Sheriff,
We do not do valuations here on SRP.
You would have to search history on the auction sites for any ideas.

EDACO Solingen manufactured razors from 1950-1970 so they are relatively new as far as Vintage razors go. I can't really tell you more about them...
