Just ordered this razor...whatcha guys think?
Hi gentlemen, I just wanted to share my impulsive purchase. Sure, I should have asked BEFORE purchasing, but I didn't help myself. Now I'm beating myself up over that
Thing is, I've got lots of straight razor shaving experience, and none in honing, so I needed a second blade for when I send my only blade out to hone. I've been telling myself that my next blade should be significantly different than my original (different brand, ground, point, and size). However, I fell in love with my Dovo Bizmark, which is a 6/8 full hollow. Now I ordered another Dovo (same brand), full hollow (same grinding), round-ish (same point), but... it's a 5/8 (finally, something different).
I kind of fell in love with the looks , I'm a sucker for looks. This does not only happen to me with razors
Anyway, I need for you straight shooters with more experience to let me know if I did the right, wrong, or "meh" (neutral) thing. Do you guys think I'll have a noticeably different shave with this? I haven't seen many reviews on this razor. Here's the link: DOVO Straight Razors
Thanks!!!

The razor should serve you very well. I don't know if it will shave different or not. Just check the balance when it comes. Sometimes with a 5/8s razor large scales can throw the balance off and also make the razor hard to hold unless you have very large hands.

Thanked: 240I don't think you'll notice too much of a difference in the shave, but boy is that a great looking set of scales on a nice dovo blade. Let us know how you like it when it arrives!

Thank you all! Thebigspendur, that makes a lot of sense. My hands are, I would say, medium. However, now that you brought that up, maybe the biggest issue will be while stropping. Oh, oh, I hope I didn't purchase my first trailer queen! Thanks again!
