    Breyton,
Welcome to SRP. Wade and Butcher have a great reputation, but that doesn't mean that yours is in great shape. If I understand what you are saying, your W&B passed the Hanging Hair Test but pulled while shaving. The Hanging hair Test (HHT) only tells you that the razor was sharp enough at that single point to cut the hair. That doesn't mean the rest of the razor is sharp enough, or even that the point you tested it at is ready to shave with. It is possible for a nick, bur, or wire edge to cut a hanging hair, but none of them are good for shaving.

Who honed your Wade and Butcher?
How long have you been using your Dovo?
Where are you located? - There may be someone near by who can help.

    Peace,

I would also echo that the HHT is not a good gauge as to a shaveable edge, unless you hone the razor yourself and know what to look for. I've heard of people getting HHT positive results after bevel setting, but I certainly wouldn't shave off that edge.

It sounds to me like your W&B needs to be properly honed. Every W&B I've used has taken a very nice edge.

Did you hone it yourself or was it honed for you? Sounds to me like your bevel is not set. Make sure the bevel is set before progressing through your stones.

I would contact the vendor then as apparently it isn't shave ready and that is on them to make sure of if they are selling it that way.

I agree with Joe. It may just be "factory honed" and not really ready to shave. In either case I'd contact the store you bought it from.

How have you liked your Dovo? How many times have you shaved with it? These may seem silly questions, but they can tell us a lot. Also, where are you located? We have members from just about everywhere around the world, and there may be someone near by who can help you out.

    Peace,
