In the pic of the hone , you can see the bundle of synthetic hair (sitting behind the hone) that the honer uses to test the edges of the razors . The blade needs to cut one of the hairs in order to be deemed "shave ready" .

I can see why these razors are not made in the US. Ergonomics don't seem to be a big priority around there.
