    Default Red Revisor 5/8

Just received this the other day. While not quite shave ready it didn't take much to get it there. Did some passes on the Coti then a few on a Thuri and of course stropped it pretty good.

Shaved with it yesterday; what a nice shaving razor. The fit and finish is not quite up to the 6/8 I got but then again with the price difference I didn't expect it to. Still of very good quality imo, that's for sure.

    Thumbs up Good Buy!

Nice razor. I often wonder how close the shave experience is between a company's entry level razor and their luxury level razor. Obviously, the nicer or more exotic the scale and the larger the blade, the higher the price. But does the higher price automatically equate to a better shave? How do you compare the shave from your Revisor Gold and your Revisor 6/8?

I looked at the Gold several times before going with the Revisor Solingen Extra (5-0003 in blue) and the Revisor Prima Solingen (6-0029). I really would like to get a Revisor Soligen Extra in red (5-0004) but I am also coveting a Wacker Spanish point (1056). I will have to be careful that my wants do not get in the way of my needs.

You are building a really wonderful collection. How do you plan to house your razors?

My wife just gave me a beautiful vintage mahogany cutlery box that is being repurposed to hold a 28-day collection. I also bought a 7-day razor box for ten dollars. The leather was in really bad shape so I stripped off the leather and reglued all the wood joints. I am replacing the old velvet and refinishing the wood exterior. A lot of fun for ten bucks. My goal is to keep at 28 razors and sell one if I want to buy a new one.

Glad you are having good experiences in your collecting.

You are turning into such a Revisor-slut!

I'm on the Revisor website daily to look at them, my next razor will be a Revisor for sure.

I love the colorful red/blue/gold of the first razor. Really striking. It gives me a case of Razor Envy!

    Very nice collection.

The shave quality is as good as any other razor I have owned. Now, when it comes to build quality there are differences. The 6/8 Extra is of better build quality by some margin.

I can't be a Revisor-Slut just owning two. I have more Watervilles than any other brand, Waterville slut? Guilty as charged LOL.
