Some would say yes, others would say no. Only one way to find out what you think, though.

From the title of your thread I would say that like me, you are dealing with dyslexia.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

A lot of people justify the cost with mention of collectibility and resale value. Good shavers, consistent quality.
If you are married I would suggest avoiding though for sake of marital bliss.

The Filarmonicas are the equal of any Solingen or Sheffield razor IMO. OTOH, they are not 'better' in general. They have become, like some of the dubl ducks, collectibles and that is why they bring the high prices. Most vintage German, English, Swedish and USA razors are great shavers and cost substantially less. Particularly if you are buying obscure brands. Fillys are usually real good though if you are willing to pay the added cost due to the collectible aspect.

It took me six months to find a NOS 4/8 Filarmonica stainless and a NOS 5/8 Filarmonica Doble Temple at a price I was willing to pay. I bought one from France and one from England. The larger sizes were out of question for my budget.
Are they worth it? At the price I paid, yes. Both razors shaved superbly out of the box and are among the very best shavers in my collection. I could make a profit selling them on eBay but, now that I have them, they will never leave my collection They are equal to but not necessarily better than the best Boker, Hart, Dovo, Revisor, and Heljestrand that I have.
Filarmonicas are very good razors but, IMHO, are not worth the astronomical price you see on eBay.

It's fun to own a beautifully crafted, rare, attractive, and trendy razor; I have a few myself. However, it isn't a requirement for getting a close shave.
