Thread: new scales

I love my razors, but the plastic scales don't do it for me, i am talking about my dovo, its sturdy but i want a more retro feel and look. I was were and if it is possible to buy and replace scales at a good price.

Most people that have their razor rescaled get it done by a vendor that custom makes them. Most others available will be similar to what you want to replace. Check the 'Vendor Corner' in the classifieds and/or the 'Custom Builds and Restorations' forum and contact the vendor you select by PM. There are a few sites that sell 'ready made' scales but they still need to be fitted to the razor and come in a variety of materials but I can't recall them at this time.

There are some stores on the 'net selling replacement scales.
'The Invisible Edge' (UK) and 'Shaving Style' (Canada) are the stores I have used and have no complaints abut their ready made scales. (I haven't linked to them in case that is against the TOS).

Be warned that not all razors are standard lengths, although Dovo pretty well sets the standard for modern razors so you shouldn't have too much concern there.
