Thanked: 2rust and razors
The razor, which I have been using for years, suddenly became discolored on one side. I always dry the blade after I use it, and leave it to air out. Can anyone offer suggestions as to how to remove this, or light rust, without harming the blade?
Thank you.

Thanked: 2591use polishing compound on a cloth.
For storage you can start oiling the razor then you will never have the rusting problem again.
I personally like Ballistol for oiling blades.Stefan

You first need to ask yourself why this happened and how to make sure it won't happen again. If the part that is folded away between the scales is rusty you will probably have celluloid rot and you need to remove the scales and bin them.

Thanked: 46+1 for Kees. Over the years I have ditched a bunch of cell scales. In most cases I have done this as a safeguard. After only ONE wrecked razor, I learned to watch cell scales like a hawk. As nice as some of them look, I would still rather have plastic, wood, horn, or bone. Best, wildhog

Thanked: 2Thanks for your assistance. I tried the polishing compound, and it worked! When they dried, I put oil on them.
Thanks again!
