Thanked: 1936Top one looks like a nice razor: I found some information in my Goins Encyclopedia on Hugo Melchior Supply Co. out of Omaha, NE. Looks like they were an importer of German Blades. Last information on them was about a possible son who continued the business (a full line of barber supplies) until 1939. Their main offices were in Chicago, IL. Interesting thing is that I didn't find anything on them from Philadelphia, PA.
The second razor needs some TLC and then I'm not so sure. Can't read the information on the tang. I would want to take that one to a 1K stone to ensure you have good steel at the bevel before I attempted any restoration on it.
Hope this helps..

It would take a lot of work on the second. The scales are toast and it looks like there's a chip at the toe of the blade. Also looks lake a line of some kind, maybe a crack? Evaluate it first.

Thanked: 46The first razor looks great! If the Geo W isn"t cracked, being a wedge, there may be enough steel for it to clean up. If so, Geo W"s make great shavers if you like the weight and the wedge grind. I have a number of the heavy sheffield"s in my collection and can"t fault them at all. Best, wildhog
