True Confessions!
If it is any consolation, my first new razor was a Dovo "en vogue - 105" Black Micarta razor from SRD, freshly honed by Lynn. THE VERY FIRST TIME I USED IT, I "tinked" it against the side of the faucet, leaving the tiniest of a micro-micro-chip. You can see it but not feel it. It doesn't show on the bottom of the edge. I have used it this way without a problem since December.
Fortunately, I have the "honing for life" certificate from SRD. However, I feel like I am going to be called into the principal's office when I send it in to be rehoned. (They may add on an extra charge but that's ok. It is a superb razor.)
Of course, I couldn't have learned this lesson on my fifty-year-old Red Imp. It had to be the new Dovo. It felt like backing a new car into a light pole as you prepare to drive it off the dealer's lot.
Happy Shaving!

Thanked: 2similar thing happened to me, however i just assumed it was the nature of the extra hollow steel. In my case, I didnt see it occur - noticed the chip later. the good thing is that it wont likely be a difficult fix

Thanked: 13Good to know, guys. Oh, and DLB? gave me a good chuckle. I think my next step is to check out the honing services on teh Classifieds... unless anyone would like to endorse somebody...
I'm not going to move on it right yet; the missus and I have a baby due on Sunday. But I'll get on it pretty soon afterwards (*if* the kid comes out on time).
