What are the numbers on the tang?
Something that I have been wondering since I began this journey is - what are the numbers stamped on the tang of a lot of razors?
Does it indicate the number in the production run or is it something more complicated?
Cheers,

Generally these numbers indicate a model or style to distinguish them from other razors made by the same company. Most are simple 1, 2, 3, or 4 digit numbers, but some like Robeson, used a more complicated numbering system with six numerals/letters to identify their blades.

Model/pattern number ...version number, nothing interesting.
But it helps to identify the razors.
AFAIK, only Soviet razors have the numbers on the tangs, which mean the year of production.Alex Ts.
