Default A Birthday Razor from a Friend!!

My god, today was one of those terrible days at work. It's jungle-like climate in Minnesota right now, and working a part time job in summer to supplement income is getting old REAL quick...

Onto the good: I play D&D with 3 friends, yes Dungeons and Dragons. One of the guys, who is just getting into the straight razor shaving experience, announces that he has an early birthday gift for me. This was TOTALLY unexpected, but needless to say, I am very excited about it.

Here's what I know, chime in asap with more info!!

Plastic scales with a floral deer design on it in an oval.

Blade has this stamped on it: FRIEDR ERN&Co.
    WEYER-SOLI (rest is scratched out)

other side of the blade has a B, Two Headed Bird with Opened Straight Razor Emblem underneath, and an asterisk design as a band type thing, that is on the opposite side too.

This thing is awesome. Needs some work, but is definitely the coolest razor I have seen yet.

That will hone right out. Should make a nice 1/8 razor.

I like the look of the scales,

Quick Google came up with this:
Friedrich Ern & Co., Solingen-Weyer in 1925 and 1928, Weyerstrasse 196 in 1939. Brand names: 'Commodus', 'Damokles', 'Doppeladler', 'Ern & Cie', 'Ern & Co.', 'F. Ern & Co. Weyer-Solingen', 'Kobold', 'Newton' 'Ost', 'Sprock', 'The Sir Isaac Newton', 'Vim', 'Weltbrand'. Open-blade razor maker.

I would not drop below an 8000; hell, a few hours on a 16000 will smooth that right out.

Glad you like it and thanks for dropping the info on this site. I may have to save up and learn how to hone now.
